Mac Miller has finally commented on his recent breakup with pop star Ariana Grande and her even more recent engagement.
Back in May, the couple broke up and parted ways on amicable terms. Not too long after that, Grande entered a relationship with comedian Pete Davidson. Miller fans waited to hear what the "Weekend" artist would say in response to the whirlwind events.
During an interview with Zane Lowe on Beats 1, he broke his silence. "Life is stressful," he said. "So, course there were stressful times. It's not that unique. You know, like, I was in love with somebody. We were together for two years." Miller added, "We worked through good times, bad times, stress and everything else. And then it came to an end and we both moved on. And it's that simple, you know?"
As for the numerous social media posts and stories on his ex-girlfriend's new relationship, Miller claims he hasn't really given it too much his attention. "Like, I haven't been on the internet," he said. "So, you know, people have assumed that I'm … 'Are you OK? Is everything OK?'" Because I was about to drop the album. And also, like, I don't know, it just all seemed kind unimportant, the need to show people I was OK. Like, what is that? Where does that come from? Why? Why do we have this need to use social media and the internet?"
