Just over a month following the release of "BAAD," MAAD enters the digital universe to deliver the exotic visual to her latest single, which premieres with Billboard on Tuesday afternoon (May 14).
"I'm all about making records that feel good. I want to take my listeners on a trip every time they hear music from me," the New York City native tells Billboard. "After I linked up with Midas Hutch and Raleigh from THEVAMP to create the song, I knew 'BAAD' needed a cute, sexy and badass visual to match."
With that said, MAAD went and linked up with London's Paulo Berberan to assist in telling her story and direct their fourth video together. "As an independent artist it's super important to execute the vision I see properly, so I knew I needed a director I can count on," she adds. "Even though we both live in two different countries, the universe always aligns everything to work out for the greater good.
The Technicolor artist kicks off the clip by hitchhiking for a ride back home in the back of a pickup donning cowboy attire, which has seeped into the center of pop-culture thanks in part to "Old Town Road."
MAAD then turns on the webcam to connect with her followers on BAAD.com. She fulfills their fantasies by taking on various sultry roles ranging from "American Girl," to "Desert Bae" and "Million Dollar Bae." "I'm really happy with how the video turned out and the concept behind it," the LA transplant concludes. "I hope that people will enjoy it as much as we had fun creating it."
