Puerto Rican artist on the rise Jefnier Osorio Moreno, better known as Lunay, signed a worldwide publishing deal with Warner Chapell Music (WCM).
The deal was an early bet for Warner Chappell Latin, because Lunay had no major hits at the time of the signing. But producers Chris Jeday and Gaby Music, along with their A&R team, saw the singer’s potential.
“We’re ecstatic to welcome Lunay to our roster, says Gustavo Menendez, president, Latin America, WCM. "At only 18 years old, he has all the qualities to be the next breakout global superstar.”
Lazaro Hernandez (senior director, A&R USA & Latin America, WCM), added: “When Chris Jeday and Gaby music mentioned they had discovered and are developing him, we knew we had to be a part of that no matter what.”
On the Billboard charts, Lunay peaked No. 28 on the Emerging Artists chart dated May 25, 2019. So far, he has one Billboard Hot 100 entry after "Soltera," with Daddy Yankee and Bad Bunny, peaked at No. 73 on May 25. Plus, he has two Hot Latin Songs entries: "Soltera" reached No. 3 and "Luz Apaga," with Ozuna, Rauw Alejandro and Lyanno, peaked at No. 26 on Dec. 15, 2018. And two Latin Airplay entries: "Soltera," which reached No. 1 on the July 13-dated chart, and "Luz Apaga" peaked at No. 48 on Feb. 16.
