Just once you thought the “Despacito” craze was over...
Luis Fonsi has acquired seven Guinness World Records titles because of the chart-topping music he dropped in January 2017. On Wednesday (Oct. 17), the Puerto Rican singer shared a photograph of his seven titles on social media, thanking everybody who’s behind the worldwide hit, together with Daddy Yankee, who’s featured within the unique single, and Justin Bieber, whose remix made the music attain a world success.
“I'm very honored to be a part of the Guinness World Records household,” Fonsi said. “‘Despacito’ broke 7 titles and that is because of you. Thanks to everybody who labored to attain this success! Thanks @daddyyankee, I share with you brother,” he added.
On the GWR web site, official adjudicator Ralph Hannah, who introduced the titles to Fonsi, stated: "On behalf of Guinness World Records, it's an honor to formally acknowledge Luis Fonsi for his worldwide success for ‘Despacito.’ It follows the custom of Puerto Rican artists who break data, displaying that on a small island, nice abilities are born."
