Louis Tomlinson released his latest solo single, “Kill My Mind,” on Thursday (Sept. 5).
On the alt-inspired track produced by Rag’n’Bone Man collaborator Jamie Hartman, the former One Direction-er recalls the irresistible allure of making risky choices over churning guitars and propulsive drums.
“You kill my mind/ Raise my body back to life/ And I don’t know what I’d do without you now,” Louis belts on the song’s rocking chorus.
“‘Kill My Mind’ is a song about having fun and doing silly things when you’re younger,” the singer said in a statement. “It’s about going through an experimental phase in your youth and doing things that might not be good for you, but they are exciting!”
The new song will serve as the second single for Louis’ upcoming debut solo album, following the release of tender ballad “Two Of Us” earlier this year.
