After dozens singles and years build-up, K-pop girl group Loona (stylized LOOΠΔ) will formally debut at the end this month with their new single “High Hi.” It will be the second-ever song from the entire 12-member girl group, which has spent the past two years unveiling its members through individual and sub-unit releases.
“High Hi” will front Loona's Plus Plus debut album, which will feature a total six tracks including the single and "favOriTe," released by the act earlier this month to introduce the complete girl group for the first time.
The EP and single will be released on Aug. 20, just under two years since Loona and its “Girl the Month” concept was first revealed in October 2016. Since then, the 12 women have showcased their talents through a variety songs and albums, and have rapidly gained a sizable international fanbase, known as Orbit.
Ahead Plus Plus’ release, Loona has shared multiple teaser images and one short video that hints to the song featuring a dreamy, upbeat electro-pop sound and shows members running towards something. Meanwhile, the photo teasers share individual shots the members and show group shots the members dancing amid forestry while wearing white dresses and flower crowns, recalling springtime and May Day celebrations.
