Lizzo wants to make one thing clear: "I LOVE future & swae bruhhhhhh."
The "Truth Hurts" rapper caught some heat early Saturday (Aug. 10) after using fellow hip-hop artists Swae Lee and Future to prove a point about where she fits into the current rap music landscape.
"Sometimes I get pissed that there are people who call future & swae lee rappers and still question whether or not I belong in the rap conversation…," she wrote in the since-delete tweet. "But then I remember I have the #4 song in the country, laugh, go back to my dream job and log off."
Some fans of Swae and Future didnt' take kindly to Lizzo's tweet, many interpreting it as a diss toward the two rappers.
One twitter user responded to Lizzo's tweet, writing, "but swae lee & future makes rap music, you’re an artist who makes pop music so its gonna be hard to see you as a rapper if you rarley rap." Another told her to "just take ya mediocre music and go."
Lizzo quickly deleted the tweet after seeing the backlash. "I forgot that the internet is not the place for my emotions anymore —-♀️ I love everybody goodnight," she wrote in response.
She then took it a step further by making it very clear original her tweet wasn't intended as a diss toward Swae Lee and Future.
"I LOVE future & swae bruhhhhhh… the point went straight over y’alls heads…I’m just saying we all share a similar rap sing style…," Lizzo tweeted, adding that people should listen to Swae's "Sunflower" and Future's "The Wizrd."
