Lil Kim Finally Names Her Perfect Biopic Actress After Years Of Trashing Naturi Naughton’s ‘Notorious’ Portrayal

Lil Kim has finally revealed who she’d like to see play her in a potential biopic about her life — and naturally, it’s not Naturi Naughton. After years of criticizing Naughton’s portrayal of her in the The Notorious B.I.G. film Notorious, the Queen Bee has settled on who’d be appropriate for the role.

During an interview for Season 2 of the BET+ series American Gangster: Trap Queens, she hinted at the impending project and opened up about who she thinks would crush it.

“I have a secret but I can’t tell you,” she said. “It’s dealing with me and my life a little bit, kinda. I want people to know the real Kim. All the stories that everybody else tells, chile, don’t listen to it. I see my movie in parts. So I have to find the perfect little girl, then I have to find the teenager, then I have to find the perfect teenager into almost like young adult, and then I play the remaining part myself.

“It can only be a girl that’s from the hood that I’m from. I love Teyana [Taylor], she’s my only other thought. There’s nobody else in the industry at all but Teyana. But, even before Teyana — I love Teyana, but she’s from Harlem – before Teyana, I would love to give some little girls from Brooklyn a chance so I can connect. Really connect.”

The Junior M.A.F.I.A. vet hasn’t hid her feelings when it comes to trashing Naughton’s performance. In 2009, shortly after Notorious was released, Kim issued a statement calling it “dreadful.”

“I feel like I was not portrayed how I should have been in this movie,” she said at the time. “I was in love with Big and he was in love with me. I was never a jump-off. I know this and Big knew this. I wasn’t even able to choose who I wanted to portray me in this movie. I would have never picked Naturi, she doesn’t have a Lil Kim aura at all! She looks nothing like I looked back then. We have NO similarities.

“Another thing is, I have been dealing with legal matters as far as them not wanting to pay me and shit for this movie, got a lawyer involved, so everything is cool with that, but it still doesn’t change my views and feelings. This is truly Faith and Ms. Wallace’s movie. And Ms. Wallace is right, this isn’t a Lil’ Kim movie and it’s not about me. I didn’t want it to be about me, I wanted it to be real though. And that it is not. I take no part in this movie and have nothing to do with it.”

Kim reminded fans just how much she despised it again in 2019 during a sit-down interview with Hollywood Unlocked.

“I’m going to touch on this briefly ’cause I think everybody already knows my answer to this, but I hated everything about that movie,” she said. “I hated it.”

And just for old time’s sake, Kim dissed the film again last year while speaking to Fat Joe, saying, “I hate that movie. To me, it was like a spoof. It was something that I would have never approved. I didn’t like who played me. No. No, no, no, no.”

Taylor just wrapped up Coming To America 2 with Eddie Murphy and Arsenio Hall. The highly anticipated sequel to the 1988 original is expected to arrive via Amazon Prime in March.
