LeBron James’ multimedia platform “Uninterrupted” has taken issue with a new piece video content being shared by the Alabama Crimson Tide football program.
According to ESPN, Uninterrupted sent a letter to Alabama today, addressing concerns over copyright infringement and intellectual property appropriation, due to the trailer for “Shop Talk” which features former Crimson Tide star Julio Jones and head coach Nick Saban chopping it up in a barbershop setting.
The video, according to Uninterrupted, infringes Uninterrupted’s copyright for “The Shop,” a similar web series which was developed by LeBron and business partner Maverick Carter.
ESPN reports that the letter invites a conversation with Alabama before “rushing into legal proceedings.”
Uninterrupted’s “The Shop,” which premiered during the 2017 NBA Finals, has previously released two episodes and filmed a third, that including LeBron and others having conversations while getting haircuts. According to ESPN, the premiere episode generated approximately 4 million views across Uninterrupted.com and ESPN’s YouTube channel.
