Lamb of God has released a statement confirming that drummer/co-founder Chris Adler has left the band. "We returned last week from a great European festival run and our final tour with Slayer in North America. We are excited to keep the momentum going and dive into the next record," they wrote on Thursday (July 22).
"We'd like to officially welcome Art Cruz, who has been playing drums with us on tour for the last year, as the new drummer of Lamb of God. Art will be joining us in the studio as we begin pre-production and recording of a new album."
Adler suffered injuries in a motorcycle accident back in 2018, which led him to sit out of the band's live shows for an extended period of time.
He explained in an Instagram post last September: "I experienced some issues related to the injuries that needed to be addressed with a rigorous schedule of physical and occupational therapy which is what I have been doing regularly since July."
Because of this, former Prong and Winds of Plague drummer Cruz stepped in as a temporary fill-in, but is now a permanent member. The band stressed how proud they were of their past work and wished Adler the best in the future.
