The new Argentinean urban and pop movement is on the map thanks to a wave of talented acts that include Paulo Londra, Mau & Ricky and others. Women in the Argentine music industry are also making a buzz with their infectious tunes, unapologetic lyrics and fierceness, including Lali, Tini, Cazzu and Emilia.
Because the music scene in the Latin American country is growing, Billboard wants to know: Who is your favorite Argentine female singer?
Meet the candidates and vote below!
Tini is an actress and singer-songwriter, who has been in the entertainment biz for over 10 years now. She has collaborated with artists such as Karol G, Nacho and many more, putting her name on the international radar. Tini is dating Colombian artist Sebastian Yatra.
Dubbed in her country as the Queen of Argentine Trap, Cazzu (real name: Julieta Cazzucheli) has been an underground gem for nearly 10 years. She was put on our radar after she was spotted sharing the stage with Bad Bunny in concert and also for her fiery verse on Dalex’s “Pa Mi (Remix).”
Lali, an actress and singer, showed a new side when she released her 2018 album Brava, which translates to “mad.” “My sound and even my way of singing evolved,” she previously told Billboard, adding the album’s title is short, clear, empowering and has attitude. “Even if no song on the album has that name, it’s the message I want to send.”
Emilia Mernes, who’s also a composer, dancer and model, signed with Walter Kolm Entertainment in January 2019, joining a roster that includes Maluma, CNCO, Silvestre Dangond, Wisin and Carlos Vives. She’s currently making the rounds with her single “No Soy Yo,” featuring Puerto Rican artist Darell.
