La Roux Tease Comeback After Five-Year Break

It's been five long years since La Roux released 2014's Trouble in Paradise. The second album from English singer Elly Jackson spawned the hit "Uptight Downtown" and ushered in a ier, more sensual sound for the singer's project and then… radio silence. But on Tuesday (Sept. 24) Jackson posted a picture from the recording studio that sent hearts racing with the tease that new music might be in the works.

"Back at it," read the caption to the pic of the back of Jackson's head framed between two giant studio monitors.

At present the tweet is one of only two on Jackson's feed — the other is as rave about a Tyler, the Creator show she recently went to — after what appears to be a purge of her social media accounts. A spokesperson for the singer could not be reached at press time for additional information on the release date for Jackson's next project.

La Roux debuted in 2006 as a duo with Jackson and producer Ben Langmaid, but the two split in 2014 and the project is now Jackson's solo project.
