Kree Harrison Readies January Album Release With Sultry ‘Get Away With Anything’: Exclusive

Kree Harrison is readying her new album, Chosen Family Tree, due out Jan. 24, 2020, Nashville-based indie label One Vision Music Group, and Billboard has the exclusive reveal of her sultry new single “Get Away With Anything” below.
The soulful “Get Away With Anything” follows Harrison’s reflective Chris Stapleton-penned single "I Love the Lie" and showcases the American Idol alum’s distinct country-rock edge. With a pulsating beat, haunting string features and soulful vocals, “Get Away With Anything” opens a new chapter for Harrison. The song was written by Joey Hyde, Austin Jenckes, Daniel Ross and Sarah Turner, and produced by Jordan Lehning, Skylar Willson and Harrison.
“‘Get Away With Anything’ is my favorite song from the album to perform live,” Harrison tells Billboard. “When I sing it, it reminds me of being in a relationship with someone who can do no wrong, like you’re under this love spell but you like it. It’s haunting and y and I love people’s reaction when they hear it.”
The Texas native, who rose to fame five years ago after being named the runner-up on season 12 of American Idol, says co-producing the new single felt like a recharge. “Arranging the strings with Jordan was one of the highlights,” she says. “I love how this song makes you feel, how hard it hits you during the chorus. I'm looking forward to hearing people's reaction to it."
Harrison says her forthcoming country album will detail her Nashville journey over the past 10 years as well as highlight her versatile influences. The singer-songwriter grew up listening to acts like Otis Redding, Al Green, Bad Company and Stevie Ray Vaughan, and promises that her follow-up to 2016’s This Old Thing will also showcase her soul.
"It’s a deep-dive into the musical journey I've been on these last few years and embodies the roots of everything I've learned after living in Nashville for over a decade," Harrison adds. "This record was made with the people who inspire me, humble me, and champion me. I've never been more proud of anything I've ever created."
