Kodak Black is to be released from jail today or tomorrow, according to reports from the Sun-Sentinel.
Judge Lisa Porter agreed to the Florida rapper’s plea no contest to multiple charges, including robbery and possession a firearm by a delinquent.
Kodak Black received a sentence one year house arrest followed by five years probation. He was not adjudicated, which means he will not be a convicted felon and will be allowed to tour internationally.
The 19-year-old was arrested in May on multiple charges from various warrants. Many called for his freedom and a clothing company even made #FreeKodak T-shirts to help his legal case.
He was also arrested in April after leading police on a car chase. The ficers approached his car after reportedly witnessing him purchase marijuana. After the chase, he was booked on weapons and marijuana charges. He was freed on bail more than $5,000.
Kodak Black, who is one HipHopDX’s “Top Artists To Watch For In 2016,” released his Lil B.I.G. Pac mixtape in June on his birthday and was featured on DJ Khaled’s Major Key album. He is reportedly working on a solo LP due out this winter.
