Duran Duran, Black Eyed Peas, OneRepublic, Sheryl Crow and a Snoop Dogg and Wu-Tang Clan collaboration part of fifth year anniversary for SoCal festival.
Kings of Leon have announced their first West Coast performance for 2019, headlining the opening night of Southern California's KAABOO festival, which celebrates its fifth year at the Del Mar Fair Grounds, Sept. 13-15, 2019.
Live music pioneers Dave Matthews Band will headline Saturday night, while electric-folk troubadours Mumford & Sons close out the annual festival curated by Virgin Produced and booked by Roger LeBlanc. This year's lineup also includes Duran Duran, Black Eyed Peas, OneRepublic, Sheryl Crow, Maren Morris, a special collaboration set featuring Snoop Dogg and Wu-Tang Clan in honor of the 25th anniversary of the albums Doggystyle and Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers), as well as Mark Ronson, The Revivalists, REO Speedwagon, The Bangles, The Cult, Sublime with Rome, Boyz II Men and more.
The winner of the 2019 season of American Idol will also perform at this year's festival, along with comedians Bert Kreischer, Pete Holmes, Wayne Brady, Kevin Smith and Bob Saget.
Since wrapping last year's sold out show, the KAABOO festival brand has expanded to the Cayman Islands and Dallas for a May 10-12 festival at the Dallas Cowboys' AT&T Stadium.
“It is thrilling to unveil this all-star lineup for what will essentially become KAABOO’s fifth birthday celebration,” says KAABOO’s partner and chief brand officer Jason Felts in a statement to Billboard. “Our signature curation of music and comedy acts will lead guests through yet another incredible weekend escape in Del Mar.”
