With Free Spirt on the way in which, Khalid took to Beats 1 for an in depth interview. Speaking with Zane Lowe, the singer opened up about his dream collaboration, Billie Eilish, Ed Sheeran, and extra. On Eilish, Khalid gushes concerning the younger singer, dubbing her a rockstar and praising her braveness. "The indisputable fact that she's so younger and rising up in entrance of everybody's eyes, she was youthful than me when she began," he explains. "The indisputable fact that she's rising up and he or she's daring sufficient to be like I will do what I wish to do and I do not care, I am fearless." 

When requested a few dream collaboration, Khalid displays on wanting a few of that J. Cole characteristic magic. "I'd love that. I have not met him," explains the younger singer, who seems to have the entire assembly already mapped out. "I really like simply how one can actually image and picture every little thing that he is saying as for those who have been there in that second, and his storytelling is absolutely, actually, actually wonderful. So, that may very well be cool for that. I do not know. Maybe that occurs. Maybe we'll ship it over, fly it over to him."

While a Cole collaboration might stay a pipe-dream in the interim, it appears possible that Khalid is sitting on a collaboration with Ed Sheeran. At least, that is what Zane Lowe appears to assume. Upon asking Khalid concerning the potential Sheeran duet, Khalid opts to play issues near the chest: "I do not wish to say an excessive amount of about it." He does, nonetheless, hit Zane with a wink, which doesn't go unnoticed. Barring a coincidental second of involuntary eye motion, it is fully attainable that Khalid's upcoming Free Spirit challenge will embody an Ed Sheeran-assisted single.
