Over the last week, Brockhampton frontman Kevin Abstract has been teasing clips of different songs and videos, all bearing the same end card with the words “ARIZONA baby” plastered across them. But all of his teasing came to a head on Wednesday night when Abstract simply tweeted “ARIZONA baby comin up shortly.”
One hour later, he made good on his promise. Abstract dropped his new solo EP Arizona Baby on Thursday (April 11), a 3-song project spanning different vibes and genres. For example, while the song’s opening track “Big Wheels” operates as a fiery clapback at the rapper’s detractors, the EP’s closer “Georgia” is a somber, almost R&B track where the star reminisces on his childhood in the South.
It’s clear that Abstract has the support of his group — not only did Brockhampton reveal the release of the new EP on their Twitter account, but the group also uploaded a number of video clips with the songs from the project to their official YouTube page.
But Abstract wasn’t finished yet. Just before releasing his new record, the star tweeted out a photo of himself that appeared to be an album cover, revealing that he had another project in the works, and it would be out very soon. “Ghettobaby. Next week,” he captioned the photo.
