Kendrick Lamar's publishing deal with Warner/Chappell Music is about to expire.
For his next deal, K.Dot and TDE are going to get paid big time.
Billboard has the latest on the negotiations:
A music publisher is responsible for ensuring the songwriters and composers receive payment when their compositions are used commercially. They then take up to 50 percent the royalties.
Given Kendrick's recent run success — he was the second most "consumed" artist 2017 and is nominated for seven Grammys — he should be able to negotiate a very favorable deal.
Kendrick will also be performing at the 2018 Grammys, which will air on CBS from New York’s Madison Square Garden on Jan. 28.
