Kelly Clarkson launched her daytime talk show on Monday (Sept. 9), with a wide array of celebrity guests including Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Steve Carell. Now, the singer has debuted her new segment "Kellyoke," where she performs cover songs of her favorite hits.
Clarkson chose to cover Dolly Parton’s “9 to 5” where she honored working women in various careers. The nearly three-minute segment began with Clarkson waking up and pouring herself “a cup of ambition” ahead of heading to her job as an auto repairwoman, waitress, construction worker, firewoman, policewoman and executive.
After a minute video clip, the cameras panned to the studio audience where Carell appeared at a microphone to reenact his famous line in The 40-Year-Old Virgin: “Ahhhh Kelly Clarkson!” The line was initially screamed by Carell during a scene in the film where he blurted out her name during a painful chest-waxing.
Clarkson also covered "Sucker" by the Jonas Brothers and Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance."
