Kelly Clarkson has sung a lot on her daytime Kelly Clarkson Show. Like, every single day. But on Tuesday's show (Oct. 15) she teamed up with The Politician star Ben Platt for a stirring duet of Bob Dylan's 1997 soul-stirrer "Make You Feel My Love" that took things to a new level. The emotional ballad from Dylan's Time Out of Mind album was in good hands with the pair, as Clarkson kicked the tune off in her signature smoky tone over a haunting piano and spare guitar backing.
She preached "sing!" when Platt put some of his soul into the tune, with the pair wearing it all together on the third verse and then scaling up to new heights on the fourth, with Clarkson adding some soaring ad libs as the song revved up to a fever pitch before coming in for a feather-soft landing.
Clarkson has made performance a big part of her daytime talker, busting out a cover of Miley Cyrus' "Wrecking Ball" earlier this week and also recently serving up Lizzo's "Juice," Britney Spears' "Till the World Ends," Sheryl Crow's "If It Makes You Happy," Madonna's "Express Yourself," Jonas Brothers' "Sucker" and many more.
