Kehlani Confirms Sexual Identity On Instagram Live
Kehlani has long associated herself with the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender & Queer (LGBTQ) community but has never specifically identified as one or the other.
In 2018, she apparently grew tired of people asking about her sexuality and tweeted, “I’m attracted to women, men, REALLY attracted to queer men, non binary people, intersex people, trans people. lil poly pansexual papi hello good morning.”
Now, the Bay Area singer has provided a little update on her private life. On Monday (April 5), Kehlani shared an Instagram Live post in which she proudly declares she’s a lesbian.
“Y’all think there’s something new about me — you wanna know what’s new about me?” she says in the clip. “I finally know I’m a lesbian.”
I hope this means we get lesbian music 👀 @Kehlani pic.twitter.com/3Tnoqqrinl

Despite dating Compton rapper YG, Kehlani has stated in the past she was “least attracted” to heterosexual men.
The couple went public with their relationship during New York Fashion Week in September 2019. She later took to Instagram to admit “the cats out of the bag,” while sharing three photos of herself smiling and/or kissing YG. But it wasn’t meant to be and the couple broke up less than a year later amid cheating allegations on YG’s part.
Kehlani has been romantically linked to PARTYNEXTDOOR and Brooklyn Nets player Kyrie Irving over the years. The 25-year-old gave birth to daughter Adeya Nomi on March 23, 2019 whom she called her “angel.” The father of Adeya was identified as 23-year-old singer/guitarist Javaughn Young-White
Her most recent album, It Was Good Until It Wasn’t, arrived last May and debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200. Her musical content typically revolves around relationships and the subsequent heartbreak that often follows.
