The bulletproof vest Kanye West wore during the second Atlanta DONDA listening party earlier this month now belongs to one of Ye’s fans at a hefty price.
Consignment shop Justin Reed says one Kanye West fan purchased the vest worn on August 5 for $20k. The “Follow God” rapper gifted the vest to a security guard that ended up with curator Reed.
In addition to wearing the vest during the performance, the Chicago native was also seen wearing the garment while working out and recording on the live stream inside his temporary home of Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
The black vest features ballistic inserts and “DONDA” across the front and back which were hand-drawn by Kanye West himself. The rear of the personal body armor vest also features Kanye inscribing “MBD” (My Body Different).
Ye is currently prepping for his 3rd listening event in Chicago to take place Thursday. He has rebuilt his childhood home in the middle of the Soldier Field Stadium. Official release details for the DONDA album have continued to change. According to sources the project could be dropping Friday.
