Kanye West attempted to make a statement on cancel culture by inviting DaBaby and Marilyn Manson to his Donda listening event in Chicago earlier this year.
DaBaby was under fire for the homophobic comments he made at Rolling Loud Miami in July, while Manson was facing multiple sexual assault allegations. Naturally, Twitter exploded with reactions to Manson’s presence and now, it appears Kanye has taken his friendship with Manson to another level.
On Sunday (October 31), Kanye resurrected his Sunday Service and invited the shock rocker to the big production. Dressed in all white, Manson and Kanye bowed their heads and prayed together, raising eyebrows in the process.
Fellow celebrity Justin Bieber was also in attendance as the crowd sang and prayed. But it was Marilyn Manson’s appearance that really set people off.
In July, a fourth woman sued Manson claiming sexual abuse. Model Ashley Morgan Smithline says she was subjected to rape, sexual assault, bodily harm and unlawful imprisonment as the musician “repeatedly threatened” her life, saying he would “find her” and “kill her if she left him,” according to court documents filed in Los Angeles.
“There are so many falsehoods within her claims that we wouldn’t know where to begin to answer them,” his reps said. “This relationship, to the limited extent it was a relationship, lasted less than a week in 2010. Manson hasn’t seen Ms. Smithline since then.”
But last month, a judge dismissed a suit from another woman who’d accused Manson of raping and threatening to kill her in 2011. Meanwhile, a former assistant sued Manson for sexual assault, batter and harassment in May.
A month prior, actress Esmé Bianco also sued Manson for sexual assault and sexual battery, and he was also named an alleged abuser by his ex-girlfriend, Evan Rachel Wood, earlier this year.
Whatever the case, it doesn’t appear to bother Ye. Check out the clip below.
