Kanye West, J. Cole, & Big Sean Remember XXXTentacion

XXXTentacion was shot and killed in Florida earlier today. In the wake his tragic death, the rapper’s peers have taken to social media to mourn his loss and reflect on his legacy.

Kanye West remembered the 20-year-old MC as an inspiration. “I never told you how much you inspired me when you were here,” wrote Ye. “thank you for existing.”

J. Cole also paid homage to the “Look at Me!” hitmaker. “This got me fucked up. RIP X,” he tweeted. “Enormous talent and limitless potential and a strong desire to be a better person. God bless his family, friends and fans.”

Tyga was overcome with emotions as he recalled a life taken too soon. “nothing is worth losing your life. I’m really sad about this and hurt how things have changed,” he said. “so many new young good artist that need to realise their platform and influence. We gotta do better as a culture. We gotta come together and set better examples. We got to many young people that idolise us as artist. I want my son to grow up with the right influences and a positive outlook on life.”

Azealia Banks empathized with the controversial rapper’s desire to become a better person. “We never had any interaction but I’ve watched you from afar and always saw a lot myself in you. I saw someone who made mistakes in the past but had a genuine desire to change and be better,” she said. “When you started spreading positivity and bettering yourself it inspired me to do the same. I’m sorry there were some people who didn’t want to give you a chance to change.”

Others including Big Sean, Chris Brown, Pusha-T, and T-Pain also sent their thoughts and prayers to X and his family. See some the heartfelt messages below.
