Atlanta, GA – Kanye West was expected to deliver his 10th studio album Donda on Friday (July 23) but wound up disappointing his fans yet again. Now, with an August 6 release date allegedly on the schedule, the eccentric billionaire is scrambling to finish the record.
Prior to its highly delayed arrival, Apple Music gave fans a chance to hear the album in full on Thursday night (July 22) when the streaming giant hosted at sold-out listening event at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
And according to TMZ, Ye hasn’t left and instead, set up shop at the massive venue. Not only has he constructed a studio space, he’s also carved out some living quarters and brought in a private chef to prepare his meals.
Kanye was even spotted at the Atlanta United soccer game on Saturday (July 24) wearing the exact same outfit he wore at the Donda event, including the full-face mask.
Kanye West held a private listening party in Las Vegas the weekend before where a handful of people got to check out Donda in its entirety as well. Media personality Justin Laboy, who initially said the project would arrive last week, hyped up the project by calling it an instant “classic.”
Laboy then backtracked when the album didn’t arrive and promised it would drop on August 6.
KANYE WEST WILL MOVE THE RELEASE DATE OF DONDA TO AUGUST 6TH,” he shared. “THANKS FOR YOUR PATIENCE. HE WANTS TO GIVE HIS FANS THE BEST POSSIBLE PRODUCT WITHOUT RUSHING ANYTHING. HE LOVES YALL WITH ALL OF HIS HEART. GOD BLESS.”
He wrote in the caption, “ALBUM OF THE YEAR WILL BE RELEASED ON AUGUST 6th. THANKS FOR YOUR PATIENCE. TRUST ME IT’S GOING TO BE WORTH IT.”
