Kanye West Demands Apology from Drake and J. Cole

Kanye West returned to Twitter with a series of grievances.

During his latest rant on Monday, West once again brought up his rivalry with Drake, saying the OVO rapper, along with J. Cole, owe him an apology.

“I need a publicly apology from J Cole and Drake to start with immediately … I’m Nat Turner … I’m fighting for us,” he wrote in a since-deleted tweet.

He and Drake have been at odds for years after Drake accused him of fueling his beef with Pusha-T by giving him the intel about his son, which he used on “The Story of Adidon.” “I’m not allowed to mention him or any of his family members…” Kanye said of Drake last year.

As for his issues with J. Cole, the Dreamville rapper reportedly took shots at Kanye on his 2016 song “False Prophets.” “When he tell us he a genius, but it’s clearer lately,” raps Cole. “It’s been hard for him to look into the mirror lately / There was a time when this ni**a was my hero, maybe / That’s the reason why his fall from grace is hard to take.”

In his latest series of tweets, the billionaire Yeezy mogul called for unity. “I’m the 2nd richest black man in America … I need all my people with me for us to get free.”

Despite their fallout, Ye also said he wanted a meeting with JAY-Z. “I’m waiting to meet with Sean Carter also,” he said before correcting himself. “My bad I meant Shawn … no disrespect to my big bro.”

Added West, “I miss my brothers… I refuse to argue with black men on labels we don’t own… even twitter.”

Kanye, who originally planned to release his album Donda in July, also vowed not to release any new music until his label, Universal Music Group, and his publisher, Sony/ATV Music Publishing, free him from his deals.

“I’m not putting no more music out till I’m done with my contract with Sony and Universal,” he tweeted. “On God … in Jesus name … come and get me.”

He also declared himself the “new Moses” and said he was trying to free his peers from their contracts. “I’m not gonna watch my people be enslaved,” he wrote. “I’m putting my life on the line for my people. The music industry and the NBA are modern day slave ships.”

On Tuesday morning, he posted a text exchange with an adviser who said that he could argue for termination of his contract, saying the labels have not supported him fully and can be sued for breach of contract. The unidentified person also explored the potential price of Kanye’s catalog, claiming it would be worth more than the $300 million that Scooter Braun paid for Taylor Swift’s master recordings, and also proposed a joint venture with Universal Music, which Kanye said he was “not open” to.

Katie Jacobs Stanton, who is on the board of Vivendi, reached out after his latest tweet. “Hey everyone we’re making progress… I’ll keep everyone updated on how this meeting with Vivendi goes,” tweeted Ye.
