Kanye West has made headlines with a few interviews he's conducted in support of Jesus Is King. Big Boy caught up with West at Yeezy HQ last Friday (Oct. 25), where West shared yet another controversial take.
“We’re brainwashed out here, bro. Come on, man," West said when asked to talk about his support for President Donald Trump. "This is a free man talking. Democrats had us voting [for] Democrats with food stamps for years. What are you talking about? Guns in the '80s, taking the fathers out the home, Plan B, lowering our votes, making us abort our children. Thou shall not kill."
West isn't afraid of the public backlash that comes from his words, as he's made repeated comebacks after being "canceled" by society throughout his career. "I told you I'm only afraid of God," he explained. "I'm only afraid of my daddy, God. I done been [in this] 15 years. I'm telling you that God is showing you that you can have your own thoughts, bro. I been canceled before there was cancel culture."
Elsewhere in the political realm, Donald Trump Jr. gave Kanye's gospel-inspired album his stamp of approval on Monday (Oct. 28). "Kanye West is cracking the culture code," Trump wrote. "@kanyewest’s new album #JesusIsKing is the epitome of fearless creativity and 'dangerous, unapproved' ideas. Leftists always try to silence those who are speaking truth. They’re waging a war on our family and culture. Kanye is a pioneer."
