Kaash Paige Follows JAY-Z + Pusha T’s Lead As 1st Female Artist To Invest In eSports Organization

ESports is growing by the day, and rappers are getting involved with the booming business. Pusha T and Logic own an eSports team called Chaos eSports Club and Offset recently invested in the popular FaZe Clan, giving Hip Hop a pretty exclusive club in the industry. Now it looks like the group of rappers will be getting another addition to the club. 

On Thursday (September 2), Kaash Paige became the first woman in recording history to invest in an eSports organization. The Teenage Fever singer is putting her money behind Team 33, a Hollywood-based invite-only eSports team. Ty Dolla $ign and 24kGoldn have also invested in the growing organization.   

“I made a significant investment in Team 33 because I have always been passionate about the eSports industry, and I wanted to be the first female recording artist to co-own an eSports team that I can collaborate with and promote my music and concerts through,” Paige said in a press release. 

She continued, “I have been keeping a close eye on Team 33 since its inception, and after speaking with the CEO and co-founder Tyler Gallagher for months, we both realized that we had a similar vision for the team and the drive to inspire kids and make a big impact in the world of eSports. Not going to lie, Team 33 has a great Fortnite roster I’m not the best player lol but we have them.”

Tyler Gallagher, CEO of Team 33, said, “To be the first in the entire world to have a female recording artist as a part-owner of Team 33 is unreal and never been done before. Kaash Paige has an amazing vision for the organization, and we both have similar goals for the team. Our passion for the eSports world is unmatched, and together we believe we can turn Team 33 into an iconic eSports organization recognized worldwide.”

JAY-Z recently jumped into the market after Roc Nation partnered with Gaming Community Network, Inc. last month to create worldwide global gaming solutions for athletes. The partnership allows for original athlete-centric strategies to be created, including live streaming events, gaming content production, and content syndication across the GCN network. 

The gaming industry is booming in eSports and online gambling, and Hip Hop wants a piece of the lucrative pie. Last month, Hov submitted an application to the New York State Gaming Commission requesting approval for an online sports betting license. Like Kaash Paige, who’s breaking ground in a similar industry, Hov will be the first Black man to have a license for a gambling application.
