Vocal powerhouse Jorja Smith turned heads on Thursday evening (Nov. 15) with a hanging efficiency of "Don't Watch Me Cry" at The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. In a stripped-down setting on a darkened stage, Smith's elegant vocals floated towards the sounds of a grand piano as she emoted her approach via the touching ballad from her debut album, Lost and Found.
Wearing her hair up and a form-fitting black costume with feathered shoulder straps, the 21-year-old appeared elegant as she evoked a way of tranquility with the intimate tune.
Moving inward and mining her emotions, Smith sang the emotional lyrics, "I'm not crying 'trigger you left me by myself/ I'm not crying 'trigger you left me with no warning/ I'm simply crying 'trigger I can't escape what may've been/ Are you conscious whenever you set me free?/ All I can do is let my coronary heart bleed."
Watch Jorja Smith's heavenly efficiency under.
