John Legend looked just a little exhausted yesterday morning as he sat down for an interview with Power 105.1 FM's Breakfast Club. Perfectly understandable, considering he had just performed the starring role in a live television rendition "Jesus Christ Superstar", which premiered on NBC the night before.
This might explain why the interview ran for only 16 minutes, a good length shorter than a typical Breakfast Club interview. They still managed to go over a variety topics, including his performance as Jesus Christ, the identity Beyonce's face biter, and Kanye's Wisconsin compound.
For those wondering, I'll save you having to read the rest the piece: yes, John Legend knows the identity the actress that bit Beyonce's face, and no, he's been sworn to secrecy and wont tell a soul.
Legend spent most the interview speaking on his experience playing Jesus in such a large production. He says the network made it a point to have a diverse cast for the performance, and that he hasn't received any real backlash for it. He also spoke about how he's only one Emmy award away from having the EGOT (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony for those who don't know), but that chasing awards only makes the quality worse.
He also mentions that he's going to be making his way to Wisconsin to meet with Kanye, but hasn't had the time until now. Legend and Kanye are longtime collaborators so hopefully we'll be getting another feature from him on this new album.
Finally, he premiered a new song on the show, and mentioned that he's working on a new album. The song is called, "A Good Night."
