Demi Lovato spoke for the first time since her recent hospitalization Sunday (Aug. 5), and industry friends and peers were quick to fer words support in the comments section her update.
In an emotional Instagram post, the singer was candid about facing addiction. "What I've learned is that this illness is not something that disappears or fades with time. It is something I must continue to overcome and have not done yet," she said.
She went on to thank her family, team and the medical pressionals who have been helping her, saying, "Without them I wouldn't be here writing this letter to all you."
Lovato received medical care for a reported drug overdose on July 24. As she takes the time needed to recover and focus on sobriety, she'll have plenty kind words to scroll through.
"Oh baby… sending you love," Jennifer Lopez commented on Lovato's letter.
"Sending love Demi," wrote Macklemore. "I've relapsed many times. The recovery community has always welcomed me back with infinite love and support. Always here for you. One day at a time."
