JAY-Z Files Trademark Application for Paper Planes Brand


JAY-Z’s company, S. Carter Enterprises, recently filed legal documents to acquire the rights to Roc Nation’s apparel brand, Paper Planes, according to TMZ.
Currently, the paper planes logo are featured on baseball caps, joggers, sweatshirts, T-shirts, keychains and socks on their ficial webstore.
With Hov’s trademark application, he’s looking to secure the logo for retail distribution in department stores and musical projects. JAY is also looking to have the paper planes logo on books, jewelry and even cosmetics.
The paper planes logo was created by JAY-Z's business partner Emory Jones (aka "Vegas") who is the Head Lifestyle at Roc Nation.
Jones recently partnered with New Era to launch a special collection baseball caps honoring the five boroughs New York. Each cap features the paper planes logo. Jones also secured himself a deal with Puma where the paper planes logo is prominently featured.
