Jason Ross Hits Illenium's 'Needed You' With a Club Remix: Exclusive

The need for love is universal, and yet it so ten leads to heartbreak. The fallout another hope gone under leaves one feeling lost and confused, taking stock the twists and turns that led one to this low place, sometimes shaking one's head wondering why you couldn't see the broken pieces before they flew in your face.

Illenium took that feeling and turned it into future bass melody on "Needed You." Dia Frampton gave voice to the pain we've all suffered, and somehow in that process, everyone grows. "Needed You" grows even more thanks to a remix from Jason Ross.

"I loved Illenium's Awake album, and his single 'Needed You' instantly caught my attention with that orchestral score and stunning vocals," Ross says in an emailed statement. "I knew I wanted to retain the same vibe in the original but with my own spin on it, and I hope I did just that."

Ross turned down the tempo and hit it hard with strings in order to give it that "hands-up/club feel" his fans know and love. Ross' remix joins previously released reworks from The Glitch Mob, AWAY, Trivecta and 1788-L. A full remix package for Awake is set for release Monday, June 18. Listen to Ross' take on "Needed You" below, exclusively on Billboard Dance.
