Janet Jackson Will Be Honored With The Icon Award At The 2018 Billboard Music Awards


There is no one on this planet like Janet Jackson. The Queen has spent decades blessing the public with hit records. Since her self-titled debut album dropped in 1982, Janet has churned out hit after hit. Her sound and style have been ten imitated, but never duplicated. Although Janet’s name may not be all over the news, she has been working hard over the last year. The legendary singer embarked on her State the World Tour last year, and hit 56 cities before adding a second leg to the tour that will continue this year.

Janet is set to receive the prestigious Billboard Icon Award on May 20 at the award ceremony which takes place in Las Vegas. Fans will also be blessed with a performance by Janet, who will implement three decades worth material into her set.  Past recipients the award include Stevie Wonder, Prince, Neil Diamond, Celine Dion, Cher, and Jennifer Lopez. The award show will be hosted by Kelly Clarkson. Janet has won ten Billboard awards since 1990. She has earned ten number one hits, and 27 top ten hits on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart. She has also logged seven number one albums, and ten top ten albums on the Billboard 200 list.
