Janet Jackson Confirms That She Will Not Perform at Super Bowl
After much speculation, Janet Jackson has ficially confirmed that she will not be performing during the Super Bowl halftime show in Minneapolis on Sunday (Feb. 4).
As you may know, Justin Timberlake is set to perform at the event and the singer has decided not to have any special guests. But Janet had to shut down the rumors once and for all.
On her Instagram page, the pop icon posted a message that reads: “To put to rest any speculation or rumors as to whether I will be performing at the Super Bowl tomorrow; I will not. Thank you for your support and I do look forward to seeing you all very soon."
And there you have it.
Although Timberlake said that he won't have any special guests, TMZ is reporting that he might bring out a Prince hologram during his performance. This sent Twitter into a tizzy as fans tweeted that it was disrespectful and tacky for him to bring out a Prince hologram.
Especially, since Prince had once voiced his displeasure using holographic performances at an event.
"Justin Timberlake is supposedly bringing a hologram Prince to his Super Bowl performance. Bruh, I hope that lawsuit is swift and merciless. Prince didn't even like his ass…," wrote one user on Twitter.
As now, it's only a rumor. But there are reports that Timberlake might perform a Prince song — possibly "Let's Go Crazy" — in honor the late music icon.
We'll just have to wait and see. You can watch the Super Bowl LII matchup and halftime show on NBC at 6:30PM ET.
