Citing a an unspecified "scheduling conflict," Janelle Monaé has dropped off the lineup for this year's Boston Calling festival.
"Sadly, due to a scheduling conflict, I am unable to perform at 2019 Boston Calling," Monaé wrote in a note to fans posted by the festival. "All my love to my fandroids, and best of luck to the Boston Calling organizers on a sure to be amazing festival."
The band Chvrches have been added to the lineup for May 24 to replace Monaé.
Last month, the festival announced that rap duo Black Star have also canceled on the first night of the fest, due to unexplained "unforeseen circumstances."
This year's festival (May 24-26) will also feature Lord Huron, Twenty One Pilots, Tame Impala, Christine & the Queens, Bear Hands, Greta Van Fleet, Odesza, Anderson.Paak, Hozier, King Princess, Logic, Brandi Carlile, Travis Scott, Sheck Wes and many more.
