British singer-songwriter James Bay stopped by The Late Show on Monday night (May 14) to deliver a moving and emotional rendition of his new single "Bad."

Bay took the stage solo for his performance, armed only with a guitar and his powerful raw vocals. The 28-year-old sung the painful breakup track with passion, backed by a dim spotlight.

"I want you bad, but it's done/ I'm bleeding out, 'cause we can't go on," Bay sang. "I want you bad, till I shake/ I want what we had, but what's broken don't unbreak."

The song comes off of Bay's new EP, Oh My Messy Mind, which Bay surprised fans with last Friday (May 10). The four-track EP also features a collaboration with Julia Michaels on "Peer Pressure" and the hauntingly beautiful piano-backed "Break My Heart Right."
