Former Scissor Sisters frontman Jake Shears carried out the full of life “Creep City” from his debut self-titled album on Late Night with Seth Meyers on Monday (Oct. 29). The 40-year-old glam rock singer commanded the small stage, surrounded in a semi-circle by his band, with the blue lights bouncing off his black high hat, gold zigzag jacket and matching pants.
Playing the function of a demented circus ringmaster, Shears opened the dramatic efficiency dancing across the round stage and sneering the lyrics, "You mentioned to come back and type your thoughts/ But did you imply it? Ooh, however did you imply it?," swinging his hips because the saxophone lent the track a jazzy vibe.
“Get me out of this creep metropolis,” he jammed to the danceable refrain. “I’m flat broke and I don't want pity proper now/ Just get me out, out, out, out.” Shears livened the bridge by sliding to the ground as he reached for his signature excessive notes, jiving alongside to a heat-filled sax solo and ripping off his pants at its conclusion to disclose a leotard and fishnet tights.
