How to Watch the 2018 MTV Video Music Awards

MTV's Video Music Awards are returning to New York's Radio City Music Hall on Monday night (Aug. 20), and tons shocking performances and viral moments are sure to hit your screens no matter where and how you watch.

Those interested in catching all red carpet looks and pre-show chats and jams need to tune in on the early side: the pre-show kicks f at 8 p.m. EST and features performances from the Backstreet Boys, Bazzi and Brice Vine.

The ceremony itself begins at 9 p.m. — and on a high note, too, as Cardi B will be making her return to the stage with a show-opening performance just a few weeks after giving birth to her daughter, Kulture Kiari.

The notable live sets don't stop there, though: Ariana Grande is set to perform during the VMAs (and likely one her brand new Sweetener tracks, too), as is Ryan Tedder, Logic and more, as will Jennifer Lopez, who's this year's recipient the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award.

The 2018 VMAs will be broadcast live on MTV, and those who subscribe to the channel through their cable provider can either click on the television or stream the production live on

Read up on the complete list this year's VMA nominees — which include the Carters, Cardi, Camila Cabello and plenty  other artists whose names don't start with "C" — and be sure to tune in at 9 p.m. Monday evening.
