Each week, Billboard Dance looks at songs and albums rising on Billboard’s dance charts.
Zack Martino & Dyson, "Mood"
New York native Zack Martino, teaming with Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter Dyson, motors onto Billboard's Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart (dated June 8) at No. 40 with "Mood." It's Martino's second showing on the chart, following "Hold On to Me" (No. 3, April 2018), and Dyson's first. "Mood" musters airplay on core-dance affiliates SiriusXM's BPM, Music Choice's Dance/EDM channel and KMVQ-HD2 San Francisco, according to Nielsen Music.
"'Mood,' to me, is how your emotions make you feel and how they play a huge role in the music you listen to," Martino tells Billboard. "I hope 'Mood' puts you in a feel-good mood and makes you want to dance. I've been such a big fan of Dyson. I'm so happy we were able to create this song together."
Todrick Hall, Haus Party, Part One (EP)
Former American Idol contestant, RuPaul's Drag Race judge and Kinky Boots star Todrick Hall hails his inaugural appearance on Top Dance/Electronic Albums with Haus Party, Part One (No. 11). The EP earned 3,000 equivalent album units; with 1,000 in traditional sales, Haus also lifts 3-2 on Dance/Electronic Album Sales. Plus, Hall hits Hot Dance/Electronic Songs with "Nails, Hair, Hips, Heels" (No. 27), marking his second and highest appearance, following "Low," featuring RuPaul (No. 35, 2017). "Nails" earned 480,000 U.S. streams and sold 2,000 downloads in the tracking week ending May 30, the latter figure also good for a No. 7 start on Dance/Electronic Digital Song Sales.
Berlin-based act J-E-T-S (Jimmy Edgar and Travis Stewart of Machinedrum) flies onto Dance/Electronic Album Sales at No. 7 with Zoospa. The act's first charted title, Zoospa is the second for Stewart, who, as moniker Machinedrum, hit No. 14 in 2016 with Human Energy. J-E-T-S is set to embark on a North American tour this August.
