Each week, Billboard Dance looks at songs & albums rising on Billboard's dance charts.
KANDY feat. Madison Rose, "Keeping Secrets"
Long Island, N.Y., native KANDY (aka Kevin Schuppel) cruises onto Billboard's Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart (dated June 22) at No. 33 with "Keeping Secrets," featuring Madison Rose, marking the first Billboard chart appearance for both acts. "Secrets" is securing airplay on core-dance affiliates such as KMVQ-HD2 San Francisco, SiriusXM's BPM and Music Choice's Dance/EDM channel, according to Nielsen Music.
"This record was made to express the need to not hide your truth in any aspect of your life, but especially when it comes to how and who you love," KANDY tells Billboard. "As an out and proud artist, when Madison first sang me the lyrics to the song, I couldn't help but see my coming-out story in it. The production came to me instantly. Things organically flowed from there, and we finished the record in one session. We are just so happy to share it with the world and to inspire everyone to be themselves."
R3HAB & A Touch of Class, "All Around the World (La La La)"
Dutch-Moroccan DJ/producer R3HAB (Fadil El Ghoul) and German-based act A Touch of Class (formerly known as ATC) debut at No. 36 on Hot Dance/Electronic Songs with "All Around the World (La La La)." The track, a remake of ATC's global hit, earned 1.1 million U.S. streams in the tracking week concluding June 13. The original, titled "Around the World (La La La La La)," traveled to No. 28 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2001.
London-based Plaid, the duo of Andy Turner and Ed Handley, parades onto Dance/Electronic Album Sales at No. 5 with Polymer. It's the act's first Billboard top 10 in its third appearance, following Reachy Prints (No. 21, 2014) and The Digging Remedy (No. 14, 2016). Plaid, which translated to "party" in Welsh, continues its European tour through the end of June.
