Hillsong Worship's Awake arrives as the group's seventh No. 1 on Billboard's Top Christian Albums chart, launching atop the Oct. 26-dated tally with 14,000 equivalent album units (10,000 in album sales), according to Nielsen Music.
The worship music collective serves as the musical arm of Hillsong Church (and is sister act to Hillsong United and Hillsong Young & Free). Awake is its first studio LP since Faithful in 2004 and its 28th total Top Christian Albums entry.
The act had last led with Let There Be Light in November 2016. It first achieved leading status with its 13th entry, A Beautiful Exchange: Live, which bowed at No. 1 in July 2010.
The lead single from Awake, "King of Kings," jumps 24-13 on the Hot Christian Songs chart, which combines streaming, airplay and sales data, as it debuts at No. 19 on Christian Streaming Songs (1.3 million U.S. streams, up 79%) and pushes 38-36 on Christian Airplay (461,000 audience impressions, up 23%).
CHART 'ACT'-ION:The Devil Wears Prada's The Act enters Top Christian Albums at No. 3 with 9,000 units (8,000 in album sales). The Ohio-based metalcore outfit earns its fifth top 10, a sum that includes three No. 1s: With Roots and Branches Below (2009), Dead Throne (2011) and 8:18 (2013).
SWEET'S SPOT: Plus, Michael Sweet, frontman of veteran Christian rock group Stryper, enters Top Christian Albums at No. 5 with his solo set Ten (6,000 units, almost all from album sales).
Ten marks Sweet's fifth top 10, one of which, One Sided War, led, in 2016. He first charted solo in 1994 with his No. 4-peaking self-titled album.
