In commemoration of National Coming Out Day, Hayley Kiyoko shared a message on Thursday (Oct. 11) speaking about surmounting her struggles with popping out.
Partnering with the It Gets Better Project, the “Curious” singer supplied up nuggets of knowledge on overcoming her self-doubt and isolation and studying how you can totally love and embrace herself and her queerness.
“I grew up isolating myself as a result of I used to be dwelling in worry of judgment from different folks,” she says within the brief clip. “Whether they might choose me or not, I used to be too afraid to take that probability to be judged.”
After opening as much as acquaintances and finally working her option to popping out to nearer family and friends, she finally realized that she was her personal worst critic.
“When you’re attempting to return out or wanting to return out, you don’t really feel sufficient since you really feel completely different,” she continued. “That’s actually vital to remind your self that you're.”
She concludes by sharing a “tacky” centering train she does each morning: reciting “I like you, Hayley” 10 occasions each morning as a mantra of self-love.
