Strumming an acoustic guitar and backed by a choir wearing black, H.E.R.’s soulful voice melted into the opening verse: “I’m misplaced, is it actually even my fault?/ I don't assume that it's imagined to be arduous, if it's actually meant to be/ So give me an indication/ Is he all the time gonna be mine?/ Have I given it sufficient of my time?/ You can not blame if it don't imply nothing.”

The velvety track heated up by the point the second refrain rolled round, with the drums amping up and the harmonies rising thicker. “Sweet, candy destiny,” she sang, “I had about all I can take/ Am I dwelling within the path that I make/ Is it yours? I ponder.”

Throwing it again to the ‘90s, H.E.R.'s voice simmered on the breakdown, which interpolated a portion of Michael Jackson’s “Earth Song": "What about yesterday?/ (What about us?)/ What in regards to the seas?/ (What about us?)/ The heavens are falling down/ (What about us?)/ I can't even breathe."
