Green Day Returns to Top 10 on Alternative Songs Chart With ‘Father of All…’


The band ties for the third-most total top 10s.

Green Day snags its 23rd top 10 on Billboard's Alternative Songs airplay chart, as "Father of All…" leaps 13-10 on the Sept. 28-dated tally.

In its second week on the list, the track completes the quickest rise to the top 10 in six months, following The Black Keys' "Lo/Hi," which vaulted 22-9 in its second week (March 23).

Green Day earns its first Alternative Songs top 10 since "Still Breathing," which hit No. 1 for five weeks in early 2017.

With 23 top 10s, Green Day ties U2 for the third-most top 10s in the chart's 31-year history.

"Father of All…" also jumps 14-8 on Mainstream Rock Songs, granting Green Day its 15th top 10.

On the all-rock-format Rock Airplay chart, the track rises 3-2, up 12% to 8.5 million audience impressions, according to Nielsen Music. Also taking just two weeks, the song logs the quickest climb to the top two since Red Hot Chili Peppers' "Dark Necessities," which zoomed 7-1 in its second week in May 2016.

"Father of All…" is the lead single from Father of All Motherfuckers, Green Day's 13th studio album, due Feb. 7, 2020.
