The Original Misfits play Banc of California Stadium on June 29
We finally know why those mysterious billboards with the Misfits' famed Fiend logo have been popping up around LA freeways.
Punk fans who have never seen the original Misfits with singer/songwriter Glenn Danzig and bassist Jerry Only will get one "Last Caress" this summer at Banc of California Stadium in Los Angeles, the band's first since breaking up in 1983. The June 29 concert at the home of Major League Soccer's Los Angeles FC is the band's only West Coast show of 2019 (so far) and only the second show to be announced for the year.
Tickets for the LA show go on sale Friday (April 5) at 10 a.m. PT, and the lineup of the summer time punk show includes frenzied Chicago punkers Rise Against, Brody Dalle's The Distillers, Anti-Nowhere League and old school New York hardcore and thrash band Cro-Mags.
The Misfits are one of punk's most iconic bands, crafting the horror punk genre with songs like "Bullet," "Last Caress" and "Horror Business" between 1977 and 1983, before Danzig left the band to form Samhain and later Danzig. Only and Danzig reunited in 2016 after a 33-year lull to headline Riot Fest in Chicago and the Banc of California Stadium show will be the band's sixth show since reforming -- the Misfits are also playing Allstate Arena in the Chicago suburbs on April 27.
