The Georgia Bulldogs outgunned Baker Mayfield and the Oklahoma Sooners in an epic Rose Bowl game last night, advancing to their first national title game since 1980.
The Bulldogs’ defense could hardly contain Mayfield and the high-powered Oklahoma fense, but that didn’t stop UGA linebacker Davin Bellamy from telling Mayfield to humble himself after the 54-48 double overtime victory.

As the Georgia Bulldogs celebrated on the field at the Rose Bowl, Bellamy could be seen repeatedly yelling at the Heisman trophy winner, “Humble yourself! Humble yourself!”
Bellamy expanded on his comments while speaking with reporters in the locker room.
“All I’m saying is humble yourself,” Bellamy told ESPN after Georgia’s 54-48 victory in double overtime. “All the flamboyancy … I carry myself the same way, but humble yourself, man.
“Our wide receivers came back and told us that they were running their routes before we went out there and he was on their line. Just humble yourself, man, just humble yourself. You’re not built like that.”
Mayfield, who threw for 287 yards and two touchdowns, and also received a touchdown pass in the final game his college career, responded, “They can say what they want, they won the game.” The 22-year old fifth-year senior will now look ahead to the NFL Draft, where he is expected to be the fourth QB f the board, according to ESPN’s Mel Kiper and Todd McShay.
The Georgia Bulldogs will take on the Alabama Crimson Tide in an all-SEC national championship next Monday, January 8th.
