Country music legend George Strait brought out fellow performer Miranda Lambert to deliver a moving performance of his classic song “Run” at the 54th Academy of Country Music Awards on April 7.
Strait, with his iconic cowboy hat and black guitar, and Lambert, in a shimmering sequin-and-fringe outfit, almost immediately won over the audience with a quiet-yet-moving performance of Strait’s classic. “Baby run, cut a path across the blue skies/ Straight in a straight line/ You can't get here fast enough,” they sang.
While Strait was not nominated for an award at the ceremony, he did present the prestigious Dick Clark Artist of the Decade award to Jason Aldean earlier in the evening. Lambert was nominated for two awards at the ceremony, for music event of the year and female artist of the year.
