The outing promotes “Dive Bar,” his new duet with Blake Shelton
Garth Brooks is embarking on a dive bar tour in honor of “Dive Bar,” his new single with Blake Shelton.
Brooks broke the news Sunday night on his weekly Facebook fan chat, “Inside Studio G.”
The seven-city tour kicks off July 15 in Chicago, the only city announced so far. He’s teaming with Seagram’s 7 Crown, which he said is picking the cities.
Brooks, who is in the first year of a three-year stadium tour, is tying in with local country radio stations in each market. On Monday (July 8), a Chicago country radio station will announce the Chicago venue and how fans can get tickets for the show.
“Dive Bar” debuted at No. 15 on Billboard Country Airplay chart, making it Brooks’ second-highest-starting song among his 90 Country Airplay entries. Shelton will join Brooks at Boise, Idaho’s Albertson Stadium June 19 to perform the duet together.
“Dive Bar,” which has only been available at radio, will begin streaming on Amazon on Amazon Prime Day, July 15.
While Brooks’ dive bar days are long past him, he still squeezes in a date every so often, most recently at Layla’s on Nashville’s famed Lower Broadway in 2018 as part of Country Radio Seminar.
