Concert could kick f run historic venues and stadiums

Country music legend Garth Brooks is kicking f what many believe to be the first date on a college stadium tour North America, starting with the first-ever concert at Notre Dame Stadium in South Bend, Indiana. Brooks made the announcement at WME Nashville's headquarters, joined by former Notre Dame head football coach Lou Holtz, who took the Irish to bowl games for nine consecutive seasons, still a Notre Dame record today.

"Notre Dame stadium has seen so many iconic moments!” said  Brooks the concert, whose date is yet to be announced. "I look forward to bringing a new kind crazy to the party.“

The school's evp John Affleck-Graves explained “Right from the outset, I just felt that Garth represents Notre Dame’s values,” adding “and he is the perfect choice as the first artist to perform in concert in the stadium that Rockne built. This promises to be one the biggest events in Notre Dame’s history.”

The concert is the first its kind at the school, explained Lee Sicinski, associate vp at Notre Dame. “It’s our understanding that Garth loves to do things that haven’t been done before,” saying the concert "just gives you goose bumps.”

In December, Brooks finished a  three-and-a-half-year-long tour with Trisha Yearwood, playing 79 cities, 390 concerts and selling 6.4 million tickets. Brooks also has Inside Studio G, a weekly Facebook Live series that airs every Monday on Brooks's Facebook page at 7:00 PM EST. You can follow him at facebook.com/GarthBrooks.
